Belle - Harrogate

belle gsd from the pound

Belle is a young German Shepherd about 2 yrs who came to us from the dog pound. Bell was very thin and very scared, she is a gentle dog and very affectionate when she knows you. She is friendly with other dogs and is not interested in cats.Bell is in our kennels in Harrogate.

Buddy

buddy stray gsd

Buddy was found wondering in a garden he had a large chain & padlock around his neck. Since being in rescue care he was take to vets and we have been told that someone has filed his teeth down Words fail us, this dog is such a gentle soul. Fosterer says: After having Buddy for over a week now, I can report that he his a very friendly, calm boy. He his excellent with other dogs as he his living with 2 German Shepherds. HE is very strong and tends to pull on the lead, but after ten minutes he calms down and walks quite well. Does not bark at people coming into the house. Will need lots of time with basic training, this is one area where i feel he needs work, he is picking it up quite well. Has good recall (with treats). I honestly think Buddy needs to go to his forever home where he his the only dog. He would benefit from the one 2 one which he needs. We think he is going to be a wonderful dog with  the right environment & owner. His age is 5/6 not up to date with vaccinations. he is chipped, been to vets for health check & has no underlying problems. not been castrated.

Sam - Yarm

sam young gsd

Sam is an un spayed bitch she is 14ths old.She is black & Tan semi coated she lives with 2 other dogs but unfotunatley she is not getting along with one of them this is the reason she is being re homed. Sam gets on with all other dogs that she meets just seems to not gel with her house mate. She is fine with children we would say older as she is still young and boistous. She is fine in the house she does pull on the lead so owner uses a Halti.Volunteer said that Sam was very friendly when is arrived at the house Sam showed no signs of aggression or fear, dosen't appear to have any issues other than not getting along with the owners other dog (Yorkshire Terrier) but gets on with the other YT. Volunteer says she is a very friendly dog, if he had been able would of happily taken her home.

Gypsy

gypsy

Here we have little Gypsy, she is now 21 months old. Little Gypsy has had a hard start in life, coming into the rescue her coat matted and smelling really badly and weighing only 19 kg. After a lot of TLC she cleaned up very nicely, having been in foster care for three months now she has come on leaps and bounds, but still needs to put on more weight. Although Gypsy is full of beans and always ready to play, she can still revert to the scared little dog that she was and this can result in her urinating out of fear or even excitement? She is entire (not spayed) She gets on very well with fosters' two GSD's dogs, but will chases cats.

Lennox - Harrogate

lennox gsd cross

Lennox  is an 8mth old german shepherd cross, fully vaccinated, neutered, wormed and fleaed. Lennox came to us on xmas eve having being abandoned at a vets. He was extremely nervous of people at first and wet himself when he met new people. He soon responded to kindness and loves being with other dogs. Lennox is very affectionate when you gain his trust. He is living in the house with us at the moment and is doing really well. He gets on with cats although he is still a bit scared of them. He loves to play ball and is very good at basic commands ie sit ,stay and paw.Lennox will wait patiently for his ball and will not take it unless you say he can. He will make a very good dog for the right people who will continue with his training as he still young . He would be better in house with older children as he still quite nervous and would be scared if  there was a lot of noise.

Sophie - Nuneaton

sophie frightened german shepherd

Poor little scared Sophie really does need a lovely new family to take her under their wing and give her the confidence she so needs to enable her to face the big world and all thats in it. She is a really sweet little girl of around 2yrs fully vacs and chipped. She has been no trouble in her foster home but was petrified in kennels, bless her. She seems no trouble with other dogs, not known with cats or kids but has such a kind nature i can't see any problems. That special person must be out there.....come on show yourself.
PLEASE DO NOT RING ABOUT ANY OF THE DOGS IF YOU HAVE NOT BEEN HOME CHECKED.

Sam - Stockport

sam gsd

Sam is 2yrs neutered and vaccinated. Sam is a typical teenager with lots of energy! He is currently not getting enough exercise or attention so is very excitable and needs further training on the lead as he is a very strong lad. Sam needs someone with experience who is going to put the time in for training he would thrive doing obedience or agility. He is very good with strangers, can be left and doesn't chew, travels well but cannot live with cats and older children only due to his energy levels! He gets on with other dogs but can be to boisterous with small ones especially at the moment with his lack of exercise however he could live with a female who will either teach him some manners or enjoy a good game of chase!

Zeus - Catterick

zeus white german shepherd

Zeus is 5yrs entire good with older children, needs help with socialising although plays with other gsds and cannot live with cats. Zeus has lived with a female but is selective with other male dogs. He has good basic training is very calm in the house greets strangers well, however due to being moved he has developed separation anxiety which has come on due to stress, he also panics in the car so a crate will be needed. Both of these will improve greatly when he is settled in a loving home. Zeus just wants a cuddle and to keep your feet warm!

Bruce - Caerphilly

bruce whgite german shepherd

This stunning boy is the lovely Bruce,Who is a 3 yr old semi coated white shep, when our assessor went to meet him he barked at first but soon settled, she said that he was a friendly boy who welcomed her very well into his home, however his owner did express that Bruce do have a couple of issues which with an experienced owner and bounderies would soon be sorted, he is fine with children he knows but is nervous of boys but his owner has said that it could be to do with something that happened in his previous home, so for this reason we would prefer a home with no children,Bruce is fine with other dogs, lives with cats and 5 free range rabbits and is fine with them also, Bruces issues are that he is nervous of new people (although our assessor did not see any evidence of this issue) in her words Bruce is a stunning dog who with the right owner and his nervousness handled he will make a great addition and companion as he loves fuss.

Zimba

zimba gsd

This pretty girl is Zimba, she is 2 yrs old and only being rehomed as her owner passed away, Zimba is fully vaccinated and spayed, Zimba is a very friendly young girl and loves children of all ages, other dogs and even cats, she is Black and Tan long coated, Zimba travels very well in a car, she has no aggression in her what so ever, she loves walking so would be a great addition to an active family.
